So this is from GW as of a minute ago. I will continue to hammer my sales rep about 4 times a week, and he's promised to call me whenever new info pops up.

-Ages of Sigmar is a new system, not necessarily WFB 8.5 or 9.0

-Story advances after the events in Endtimes.

-All current models will be usable. But it's a new system, so how good/bad something was in 8th isn't an indication of how it will perform in AoS.

-Age of Sigmar is not a boardgame, is not an intro game to something larger. It's the main event.

So, one of my spies returned, wounded unto death and managed to give me a bit of info on the Great Enemies battleplan.
He was delerious and really wanted a cookie before he died, so take this with a grain of salt.

-The new system will have both Skirmish and large battle with ranked troops versions.

-Skirmish can use round or square. Large version is square.

-The round 32mm bases in the space marine boxes were originally made for WH:AoS, but the 40k studio guys liked the look and they fit space marines better.

-AOS box will have both round and square bases in the box.

Was given some info 3rd hand:

- There will be some free downloads to give unit stats for older models. These won't be in the book itself. The stats online are a onetime thing, meaning they won't be maintaining it or adding info for it going forward. But people with existing armies will have stats for all their models. Extrapolating from this, I expect that the focus of rules and stats of the aos book and any future books will be on models they currently sell. As a store, i'll probably just make a bunch of copies of this and hand it out to players as needed, so everyone has them.

-Setup may be alternating units, with the player who has the least units having some control over what objectives you'll be playing the game around.

-Statlines will be more along the line of the die roll needed.

-Very large monsters may have their stats get worse as they lose wounds.

Er is zo veel behoefte aan informatie vanuit 'de gemeenschap' dat iedere internet-troll wat speculatie kan opgooien als "ik heb gehoord dat..." en gegarandeerd 20 pagina's aan forum-aandacht kan krijgen

Uiteraard zal er vast wat bij zitten dat uiteindelijk blijkt te kloppen (GW zal zo langzamerhand hun winkelpersoneel toch het nieuwe spel moeten gaan leren) maar het is nu onmogelijk om het te onderscheiden van de onzin

moet haast wel onzin zijn

Er komt een instap-skirmish om spelers te introduceren zonder meteen honderden modellen nodig te hebben maar je moet je modellen allemaal re-basen als je wilt overstappen naar het grotere systeem

Ja, maar die zet ik hier uiteraard niet neer Alleen van mensen die een track-record hebben als bron van betrouwbare informatie. Zo onderscheid je de onzin van de feiten. Kunnen er nog steeds naast zitten, maar deze geruchten komen zeker niet van een anonieme internet-troll. Die lees ik niet eens.

Bovenstaande geruchten zijn overigens allemaal van dezelfde bron.
