Wanneer deze geruchten waar zijn dan gaan er een heleboel fans niet blij worden. Ik kan me eigenlijk NIET voorstellen dat Lizardmen, die nog niet zo lang geleden herzien zijn en waar een hele reeks nieuwe modellen van 'geproduceerd' zijn geheel waardeloos worden als leger of als units. Mocht dat wel zo zijn dan zie ik (niet alleen) Warhammer-Lizardmen-spelers compleet afhaken, vooral die spelers die als laatste zijn ingestapt en/of een bult met geld in nieuwe modellen hebben gestoken.

Geruchten, dat is waar het voorlopig bij blijft, maar mochten ze waar zijn dan zou je in enkele gevallen bijna kunnen spreken van 'kopersbedrog'. Een ander zal dat misschien kunnen verdedigen dat je oude edities kunt blijven spelen en dat er al eerder legers zijn 'verdwenen'. Dit gaat echter héél massaal worden wanneer we de geruchten moeten geloven. In mijn geval zou dat betekenen dat mijn beide legers, Lizardmen en Bretonnia, afgeschreven zijn.

Mocht GW ervoor kiezen om daadwerkelijk hun spelsysteem zo aan te passen dat bepaalde legers compleet onbruikbaar worden (op toernooien ook) dan is mijn mening: "Bom erop!"

Ik hoop dat we allemaal toch wel begrijpen dat Ben niet daadwerkelijk oproept tot het plannen van een terroristische aanslag

Als het 'worst-case-scenario' waar word en GW Warhammer compleet verpest (wat dit betekent verschilt natuurlijk per persoon ) dan mag Ben van mij best boos en teleurgesteld zijn en dat hier op het forum laten weten

Als, dat een standaard internet hyperbool is dan mijn excuses aan Ben, heb ik nog nooit gezien.

Ik blijf hem wel raar vinden.

Ik had ook kunnen zeggen 'bom eronder'. Ik wil daar gewoon mee zeggen dat wanneer GW er voor kiest om wereldwijd de fanbase teleur te stellen door complete legers 'onspeelbaar' te maken, dat het mij niet uit maakt of ze tegen een failliet aanlopen. Dat zou ze een potentiële kandidaat voor overname maken. De richting die ze de laatste jaren ingeslagen zijn is gebleken niet de juiste richting.

Vandaag bij het Spelkwartier in Arnhem geweest en een leuk FoW boek rijker. Ook nog even in gesprek geweest met een van de medewerkers over hoe Battlefront met z'n klanten omgaat tegenover hoe GW daarmee om gaat. Een hoop blabla maar het kwam er op het eind op neer dat 95% van de GW-omzet bij Spelkwartier word gegenereerd door 40K. De andere 5% is dan voor Warhammer, Mordheim en alle andere GW spullen. Hij moest bekennen dat het wat Fantasy betreft geen beste zet is geweest van GW.

We wachten maar weer af.

Warhammer 9th Timing

The source is a GW employee in a senior position. Not design team. Very good friend of mine that has for years been trying to get me to play Warhammer and 40K which I started year ago. He let the cat out of the bag when we discussed teeing up a social game. His words were “Let’s organise a game soon and also some time get together with the other guys for a last game of 8th edition triumph and treachery. 9th Edition is locked in for release on 11th July.”

If it exists at all, for now the only thing that I consider confirmed is that there should be a box with Chaos against “Humans” (thanks Harry ), but it might well be just a normal starter box released in fall like for the previous editions, and not a separate skirmish game at all.

I have posted about this. It is not a ‘normal’ Fantasy box set. It is more like the recent 40K Box sets. The rules “book” is tiny… barely a booklet even a pamphlet is being over generous … more of a leaflet … well I say leaflet, it’s closer to a ‘post it note’. There is not enough paper in this to wipe your own @rse … never mind space for enough rules to call it a skirmish game. If Fischer Price made wargames this would be Fischer Price my first wargame. It’s good but it’s not quite Carling.

(I may be overstating just how small the rulebook is for comedy effect. )

WFB 9th Roundup
Note that there is contradictory information regarding the exact timing of the WFB 9th and how many 40K codices are coming before it. There are reports of between 2 and 4 codex/campaign 40K products shipping BEFORE WFB 9th arrives.

4 army books which I am assuming will be costly

Skirmish game for sure no news of a new system with blocks of infantry. no idea about how this game will function beyond it being skirmish

old fluff returns via gods like sigmar recreating the old world anew. GREAT NEWS. New kits, New characters, if the old character died in the end times he won't be coming back so pretty much everyone.

this is all I have but it's great stuff since it means new game, New story, New minis, all done WITHOUT invalidating the minis you already own. books will be more generalized so no more individual books but that doesn't stop anyone from playing just one faction.

THE MINIS WE OWN WILL NOT GO TO WASTE.
