[Beastherder]

Hier ga ik dus de voortgang van mijn teams bijhouden

Als eerste mijn menselijke dames-team
naam twijfel ik nog over, zo gauw die vast staat laat ik het weten

uit de startset heb ik ook nog de Orcs en de mensen-heren, die komen hier na
en wie weet wat er dan nog kan komen

eerste model is klaar, kleurenschema ben ik erg tevreden over, nog een beetje 'tweaken' aan de volgorde van de highlights voor de rest van de modellen, maar dat zal nauwelijks te zien zijn



Mijn camera is nogal overgevoelig voor blauw, zo lijkt het in het echie is de kleur een stuk donkerder. Meer turqoise ipv baby-blauw
Maar het geeft een aardig idee van hoe ze er uit ziet

De gele randen geven de 'threat-zones' aan (erg handig in het spel als dat goed duidelijk is ) en geel laat zien dat dit een Jack is
de Guard krijgt rood en de Strikers blauw
zo is die rolverdeling ook meteen duidelijk

de rest van het team is duidelijk nog niet klaar, maar met threat-zones en rugnummers kan er wel alvast mee gespeeld worden



Afgelopen donderdag voor het eerst gespeeld tegen de Nameless van Joost, en dat is goed bevallen (en niet alleen omdat ik met een 7-0 landslide heb gewonnen )
De dames beginnen, ten opzichte van de 'standaard' humans, met slechts 1 Guard, veel Coaching Dice, Jacks met Running Interference en 0 kaarten
Omdat Joost ook geen kaarten had viel dat nadeel niet zo op, maar ik heb genoeg potjes gezien om te weten dat ik die kaarten wel eens heel erg kan gaan missen
Joost zn rare aliens maakten erg veel indruk en hierbij een waarschuwing voor al zn volgende tegenstanders: die gasten slaan hard!
Het is dat ik een paar extreem gelukkige armour saves rolde, anders was ik in een paar beurten al een paar spelers kwijt geweest.
Gelukkig maakten mijn dames een paar hele fraaie throwing-plays om snel de beslissende 7-0 score te halen, want als de wedstrijd de volle lengte was gegaan had ik hele hoge ziekenhuis-kosten gehad
De Running Interference skill heb ik 1 keer kunnen gebruiken om een nare Slam te voorkomen, maar om die skill goed te gebruiken moet je echt blijven opletten
Heel lastig, maar potentieel een match-winnaar

Donderdag 2e potje met de dames, dit keer tegen de Judwan van onze Dreadball-meester Stefan


De dames hebben zich goed geweerd, ze stonden even op winst maar op het laatste moment toch nog met 1 punt verloren

wel 1 Judwan weten te vermoorden, en 1 werd gedood door de gelanceerde bal ( ) dus ik claim een Moral Victory


Waarschuwing voor alle andere spelers: deze jongens kunnen ongelooflijk goed scoren
Eerste kans die je hebt moet je ze helemaal tot moes slaan, want als je ze hun gang laat gaan is de wedstrijd in beurt 3 gewoon met 7-0 afgelopen

meest extreme voorbeeld was toen Stefan nog maar 2 spelers op het veld had (de rest was er, soms permanent, afgeslagen)
1 speler komt uit de dugout gerend, sprint in 2 Acties naar de 3-punten zone, vangt de bal met een dubbel, schiet en scoort
idioot gewoon


ook gewerkt aan team-naam en fluff, met dank aan Joost voor de naam (de rest komt allemaal uit mijn zieke geest, daar wil ik niemand anders de schuld van geven )


Basin City Dames

In a Galaxy run by giant corporations, the business of female companionship is no exception
The Basin City Collective has been the biggest name in the business since time immemorial.
The BCC has long since spread beyond the infamous city it’s named after to become a truly interstellar brand.
Like so many other businesses, they soon realized the marketing potentials of the massive popularity of Dreadball and started their own team.
Due to the type of services provided by the BCC, players are apparently selected as much for their looks as their skill on the playing field. They show up to press conferences, post-match interviews and other publicity events in very revealing clothing, flirt with the camera and the public.
“Wardrobe failures” are so common, even the most gullible member of the public realizes they can’t all be accidents.
The team’s cheerleading squad, uninhibited as they are by not having to wear body armour, are by far the most provocative of all teams, and (naturally) highly popular.
All of this is simply considered advertising, as the female body is the very thing the BCC sells.
Posters, calendars, vidlogs etc. of team players in various states of undress, are widely available and a lucrative source of income for the team.
A firm fan-favorite are the special exhibition matches played with very strict body-contact rules and a specially constructed slow-moving ball. This allows the teams to play without body armour (or indeed, most other types of clothing). Needless to say, tickets for these matches are always high in demand. In fact they are so popular a small but successful amateur league has started playing these type of matches exclusively.
It almost goes without saying that despite, at best, mediocre performances on the pitch, the team is extremely popular (though pretty much exclusively among the human male part of the public)
It is widely rumoured that the players are all recruited from the Basin City Collective members, and are indeed still available for private appointments (at extravagant prizes of course). Critics of the team have claimed that this is pure myth, leaked to the media merely to give extra titillation to the fans. Despite this, many a ‘fan’ has spent his time imagining what he would do if only he had the credits.
Criticism of the team and its’ practices has always been widespread, and sometimes very hostile.
Accusations of player-exploitation and degrading moral standards have been nearly constant during the team’s existence, but since every story is accompanied with pictures of the alleged offences, they only serve to increase the attendance of the next match.
Probably the most outspoken critics of the team are other female DB players. For years they have been struggling to be taken seriously as athletes and not just eye-candy. They consider the actions of the Basin City Dames as undoing all of their effort. This frustration sometimes translates to the pitch, and matches between the BCD and other female teams have been known to get very physical (to the delight of the fans)

Strak wit pantser gaat niet al te snel, dus echt doorschilderen wil niet lukken
maar genoeg om geen nadelen te krijgen in de eerste speelronde

Hello, and welcome to the Dreadball Channel News Update, brought to you by Zorg Industries.
Last night the much-discussed Basin City Dames made their debut in the Zorg Industries League, and learned that it takes more than looking good in a bikini to play Dreadball in the pro leagues.
They must have been hoping for a more gentle start than going up against The Great Old Ones, an alien team well known for their crushing combo-tackles, but that is no excuse for a team wanting to play with the big boys.
Only seconds into the match the Dames suffered their first fatal casualty, and 2 more would soon follow. Two fumbled attempts at scoring meant that any chances of winning the match were soon crushed along with the players, and the Dames' coaching staff quickly descended to a state of sheer panic.
They forfeited the game, fearing for the lives and, more importantly, the looks of their players.
The bodies of the players have been sold to anonimous buyers, and, considering what they sold their bodies for before becoming DB players, it's probably best not to speculate what those buyers intend to do with them.
The team has withdrawn from the League, and has promised to revise their training and recruitment regimes from the ground up, before returning with a new team in time for the next League round.
No doubt all wil be curious to see what kind of team will take to the field next time we see them, but let's hope they will turn up actually knowing how to play the game.

Lijken hetzelfde als wat ik al had, dat krijg je met de zelfde modellen en een uniform.
Het enige wat ze onderscheid zijn de rugnummers

“Well, all eyes were on the Basin City Dames last night.”
“Yes, and this time it wasn’t because they forgot to wear their clothing.”
“That’s right, Ed. It was their return to the Zorg Industries League after their disastrous debut a few weeks ago.”
“That was a horrible game, Jake, 3 dead players in 6 rushes.”
“But after a complete re-shuffle and some intense physical training they are back, trying once gain to prove they can do more than just look good.”
“Aparrently they can do a lot more than just look good, if you have the credits. Know what I mean?”
“Those are just rumours, Ed.”
“Didn’t stop you from asking for a price at that last press conference, did it?”
“SO for their first match as a new team, the BCD chose to play a risk-free Friendly against the Philips robot team. A smart move, probably. Sort of easing into the big leagues, rather than diving in and dying like they tried last time.
Zorg Industries provided the BCD with an Orc Free Agent to even out the odds. The seven foot, 300 pound Orc was quite an eye-catcher among the slender women, and it must have been quite the scene in the team dressing room.”
“Oh yes, especially when he tried to join the team in the showers.”
“You really have been hanging out in some shady corners of the interweb, Ed.”
“Not really, it’s right there on the BCD homepage. For 9,99 you get a live feed from the dressing room during matches. The shower cams are 2,50 extra. They also sell full length vids: ‘Locker Room Antics’ part 1, 2 and 3, and don’t forget number 4- ‘Best of the Shower Scenes’. My personal favourite is part 3, that’s the one where Lisa and Jennifer invite one of the Trontek 29-ers into the hot-tub and…”
“ANYWAY!! About the match..”
“Uh, yeah, right.”
“Even with their Orc Guard, the BCD were clearly still struggling with the physical parts of the game, and consequently they will have to play their next game without their Jack, Helen, who was hospitalized. Even in a low-impact Friendly, they still lose players, which does not bode well.”
“Well, they have learned to score.”
“Yes, indeed. In the end it was a 7-point landslide victory, so they’ve clearly learned something, and it should give them a nice confidence boost for when it starts for real in the next League Round.”
“I should think so, that last rush to win the match was fantastic! Philips had the ball and were looking for their first score, but then there was a 3-woman Steal led by Natalie, quickly followed by a pass to Lisa who then scored the deciding 2 points, all in the blink of an eye. Tremendous stuff.”
“Yes, tremendous, they’re still the lowest rated team in the League, you know”
“Somehow I don’t think that will stop people from watching their matches, not with that live video feed from the showers…. “




Verder nog geen nieuwe modellen af, maar wel de laatste 3 in de WIP én de Orc en Veermyn Free Agents (want met mijn succes in de League heb ik die wel nodig )
Hopelijk heb ik donderdag een volledig geschilderd team op tafel

Veermyn is geconverteerd van een Skaven Stormvermin (nou ja, geconverteerd, de wapens eraf gesneden en wat studs en spikes weggewerkt) dat ziet er een stuk beter uit dan de originele DB modellen
Orc is een wel standaard DB model. Lang geleden dat ik voor het laatst groene huid heb gedaan, beviel goed
