WIP: alweer bijna 1 meter strekkend.



Hier en daar nog wat zandzakken toevoegen en klaar. Daarna nog één artillerie plaats en wat bochten en dan is dit ook voorlopig weer genoeg.

Goed bezig Ben! Nu krijg ik steeds meer de kriebels om er zelf ook mee aan de slag te gaan maar eerst maar eens wat puppekes afschilderen voordat ik aan terrein ga beginnen .

Materials:
-Plywood 4mm (If you do not have acces to plywood for any reason, sandwich foamboard is easier to cut and can be bought in hobbystores in different thicknesses.)
-Hotglue (from a can on a stove, apply with small brush. So much simpler than a gluegun. But watch out not to overheat the stuff.)
-Polystyrene xps
-Wooden strips (Hobby store) Bedankt Frank.
-Self sieved sand
-PVA-glue
-Superglue
-Hobbyknife

Make a small drawing to make sure your bases will fitt. Also make sure that the endings of the trenches always have the same width to make all your trenches fit nicely next to eachother. I have made room between the sandwalls wide enough so an infantrybase fits in all directions. (6,5cm)

After hotglueing the pieces of precut foamboard to the plywood you can start making the wooden panels.

I glue the wooden panels with superglue. That works fast.

Hotglue the wooden boards on the foamboard.

Put some boards/planks on the ground to make walkways.
Cut the foamboard pieces in a nice slope.

I used flexible tile paste and some old plastic tanktracks to create a muddy tank trail. Make sure the tank trail dries before applying the sand.

Sand the whole thing using PVA-glue but watch out not to get too much sand on the wooden pieces. After sanding immediatly brush the sand of the wooden planks. A litte bit sand on the wallboards is not that bad.


Paint to your liking. Add some planks/boards, flock and sandbags made from FIMO or similar(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fimo) on the slopes and you're ready.
I used an electric paintstripper to speed up things, like drying the flexible tile paste. I also 'burn' the polystyrene to give it a more sturdy surface but that's a minor detail. XPS is sturdy enough as it is.

With some practice you'll become pretty fast in building these things. The trench piece above was made in less than an hour. Ofcourse the painting will need some time too. :satisfied:

En uiteraard niks dan verbazing en bewondering voor de snelheid waarmee jij dit soort dingen uit de grond stampt

Ik ben benieuwd of de FLAK 88 er ook in past met dat scherm erop.

De Flak 88 was niet oorspronkelijk ontworpen als anti-tank kanon. Het was eigenlijk een puur anti-luchtkanon dat bijna per ongeluk 1 van de beste anti-tankkanonnen van de oorlog bleek te zijn.
Daardoor heeft hij een paar kenmerken die voor een anti-tankkanon niet echt handig zijn, zoals een onhandig grote poot om op te staan (mooi stabiel als je recht omhoog schiet, maar lastig te vervoeren) en een grote hoogte (nodig om recht omhoog te mikken, maar erg lastig te verstoppen)
